My Story

Amber Thompson, Esthetician & Makeup Artist

About Me It all started when Mom and Dad went to a Rolling Stones concert and left my Aunt Jody in charge of taking care of me, then 5 years old. Much to Dad’s horror, he came home to his little girl painted in fashionable 80s makeup, including frosty blue eye shadow and red lacquered lips. I haven’t been the same since Aunt Jody babysat me that night in 1988. I became obsessed with making over my dolls and even my brothers when they could be convinced. Flash forward to 2000. That’s when I began to cultivate my skills as a makeup artist, working at various makeup counters and practicing on friends. It wasn’t long before I was being paid to do what I love: painting faces with makeup. My specialty is creating natural-looking makeup for brides and other special occasions. My passion for makeup led to my interest in skincare. After all, your makeup only looks as good as the skin underneath. I now enjoy my career in esthetics, transforming skin conditions such as acne and aging into healthier, glowing skin. There’s nothing in this world I’d rather do than help another woman feel beautiful.
